Existing cultural characteristics of a society mutate and develop with the run of what is supplied from outside. The structures that maintain their original functions are adapted to the comfort conditions of the day and the structures that are given new functions include the structural arrangements required by the function; while ensuring the continuity of our historical buildings, it helps to pass them on to the next generations. In this study, physical and functional transformation of “the Zeynep Onbaşı House, a produce of the traditional 19th-century house culture and The Aegean Region, which is one of the most important immovable cultural heritage components” into a boutique hotel will be examined and related evaluations will be made. In this flow, the history of the house, its immediate surroundings throughout Kula, the usage of the parcel it belongs to and its architectural features will be conveyed; and reuse will be analyzed with necessary images and documents within the scope of its restoration. Targeted to all this; revealing the transformation of a traditional architectural heritage structure and guiding similar studies to be realized in the future. |
