The Phenomenon of Product Readability in Haptic Interface and User Groups in the Field of Electronic Communication Tools Interaction Design

People perceive every objects and environment they communicate with their senses. We interact with the interface as we are communicating with objects. In the field of interaction design, compared to other senses, the sense of touch is highlighted. Touching plays an important role in understanding objects and identifying functional items. In today's post modern life, especially in terms of frequency of use, electronic communication tools are developing so fast that a common language of use is not formed between user groups. As the generation gap between the user groups increase, problems related to readability in design and understanding the products are becoming important. The literature survey suggests that haptic interface in the field of interaction design includes examples of applications of product and user communication, but it does not mention the effect of product on readability, usability and interpretation processes. This basically makes it difficult for user to understand products which create serious communication problems in usage process. In this article, it is proposed that the generation gap between user groups needs to be considered in the product design phase. Moreover, it is highlighted that inclusion of product readability and usability criteria in the design process can play an important role in addressing communication problems.
