A Holistic Approach to Urban Identity

The globalization is under the influence of developing countries and third world countries, and it affects and tries to shape the economic, social and cultural lives of societies and the cities they live in. This situation is reflected in the unique identities of the city, revealing similar city views instead of different city views. With the process of globalization, the rapidly progressing change movements, places of movement, urban weight in general, distribution of our cities. This change, which is reflected in the unique identities of cities, causes the differences between cities to be erased. However, it is very important for a city to be readable and meaningful to people by distinguishing it from other cities. Research conducted in recent years has led to the issue of protecting the city and giving it its identity to become increasingly important. Examples that give the city its identity are included and evaluated with a holistic approach, specifically the Millennium Park example.
