Today, consumption is not only about reaching and owning a value, but also as a whole blended with transformation, sustainability, environmental awareness, social responsibilities and similar concepts. The design method that emerged with the concept of "do it yourself" emerges as a design strategy in which factors such as low costs, production facilities, logistics, distribution, exhibition and sales turn into commercial advantages. In the focus of industrial design, besides popular culture and trends, issues such as real environmental problems and global warming come to the fore. However, the idea of design for a sustainable future manifests itself in environmental design approaches, social responsibility perspectives and in many other areas of design that concern the future. Industrial design technique is a multi-faceted, multi-specialized field of occupation where social and economic dimensions intersect. Intersections related to these areas of expertise that emerged during the product design process further highlight the importance of design in creating added value and the designer's responsibility. In this study, furniture designs are examined within the framework of the concept of “Do It Yourself”, which makes the consumer a part of the production process and is a design strategy, and the process is presented by examining with examples.
