Re-reading the Building with Disabled Elevators Added to Educational Building within the Scope of Accessibility: The Case of Çukurova University
According to the basic principle of human rights and equality of the Constitution, various arrangements should be made in order for the disabled to be able to access the structures, especially the educational structures, and their participation in social and educational life should be ensured. Temporary or non-permanent bodies resulting from congenital or life-long chronic diseases and accidents; It strengthens access to structures, outdoor spaces and services, and inclusion in social life. The aim of this study is to analyse the structures of disabled elevators operating according to the educational structures in Çukurova University Balcalı Campus and expand the scope of accessibility of user disabled elevators. In these tasks, the new relationship that Çukurova University Balcalı Campus has established with the structure of four elevators, three of which are inside the building and one inside the building, is discussed. The location of the added elevators on the plan plane, the new connections they have established with the building and its surroundings were questioned, and the architectural change that occurred with the addition of disabled elevators was evaluated. The positive and negative aspects of the disabled elevators, which were added to the existing educational buildings, on the building and its surroundings were discussed and suggestions for accessibility were presented. |
