Evaluation of Green Hotel Interior Designs within the Framework of Material, Color and Lighting
In the last few decades, global warming, energy crisis and the increase in environmental pollution have been among the most debated issues in the world. These problems have forced experts from various disciplines, especially architects, to produce new design strategies. One of these design strategies is green design, which aims to mitigate the environmental impact of buildings on the one hand and to provide healthy, comfortable and efficient environments for users on the other. Green design, which is an innovative approach, has become a preferred approach in the design of hotel buildings in recent years. Green hotel designs, which are rapidly increasing in number worldwide, are becoming increasingly important for both the hotel sector and hotel visitors today, where environmental awareness is increasing. In this context, understanding the interior design approaches of green hotels is important and necessary for interior architects. From this perspective, the study focuses on green hotel interiors and four green hotel projects with LEED certification are analysed in terms of colour, material and lighting. It is thought that the study will offer a new perspective to interior architects interested in green interior design approaches and will contribute to the related literature. |
