Usage of Waste Glass Materail in Landscape Design
Depending on the increasing population, changing consumption habits and technological developments, wastes have also differentiated, and their amounts have started to increase day by day. Increasing waste amounts also increase the burden on natural resources. For this reason, reuse, recycling or recovery of wastes that cannot be easily decomposed in nature have become inevitable. The reuse of waste with different methods also contributes to ensuring environmental sustainability. According to technological developments and innovations in the field of engineering, material choices have also differentiated within the disciplines that concern design. The use of waste materials in these areas brings with it environmentally friendly, low-cost, sustainable and rational solutions. In the study within the scope of reuse of waste materials, waste glass from Niğcam Factory operating in Niğde province was used. The usability of waste glass as a hard floor flooring material in the open area has been investigated. Waste glasses applied to the floor in the form of sticking on concrete were observed for 2 year. It has been determined that it does not pose any danger to users due to its glass nature and can be used as flooring material on hard floors. |
