n Evaluation on 20th Century Modern Housing: Antalya Sinan Neighborhood

The modernism movement, started to show itself in every field in Turkey with the proclamation of the Republic in 1923. During the modernization period, Turkish architects produced housing architecture. In the literature of housing development of Turkey ‘Property Ownership Law', which was issued in 1965, draws attention as a turning point. There are qualified examples reflecting modern Turkish architecture built before that law. These residential examples that have survived until today are local representatives of the modern period in the historical development of the city, and their protection is very important in terms of the history and identity of the city. In this study, attention has been drawn to the modern period examples that have survived to the present day in the Sinan District of Antalya. The focus is on Yaşar Ağa Apartment, which is one of these examples and still maintains its function. Documentation work was carried out with detailed photography and measured drawings. As a result of the examination, it was suggested that the buildings discussed in the article should be preserved as the 20th century modern period residential architecture samples of the city of Antalya and it was stated that social awareness should be created about protecting them.
