Evaluation of the Views of the Interior Architecture Undergraduate Program Faculty Members on the Education Process in the Covid-19 Epidemic Process
The Covid-19 Epidemic, which started to be seen in China in December 2019, has spread all over the world and has started to be seen in Turkey since March 2020. The epidemic has had effects on society from both social, economic and human aspects. Education programs have also taken their share from this process and entered the process of being carried out with significant changes. All levels of education, including pre-school, primary, secondary, undergraduate and postgraduate, have been affected by different aspects during the epidemic process. The use of different technologies has been expanded to ensure education continuity. However, the course of the process has led to positive and negative experiences. It is seen that these effects are at a level that cannot be ignored, especially in the programs where lessons are carried out with the learning by doing method at secondary education and undergraduate level., In this study, it was tried to focus on how the students of the Interior Architecture program spent the distance education process and what they experienced during the epidemic period. Therefore, it aims to examine the distance education experiences of students. The research was carried out with the 3rd grade students of the Interior Architecture Department, who were studying at Eskişehir Technical University and who had both face-to-face education experience, face-to-face education in the pre-epidemic period, and distance education and face-to-face education during the epidemic period. In line with the purpose, semi-structured interview questions consisting of three parts were prepared and finalized by taking the opinions of three experts. The interviews were made over the Zoom platform and audio recorded. In the research, phenomenological design, one of the qualitative research methods, was used. n the research, the data were collected through semi-structured interviews and the analysis was carried out with the phenomenological analysis technique. As a result, a mixed education model proposal was made in line with the suggestions of the students. |
