Analysis of the Climatic Effect of Water by ENVI-Met Simulation
Nowadays, urban heat islands have been formed as a result of the gradual disappearance of rural areas into urban living centers and the increase in urbanization and hardscapes. For this reason, climate factor plays an important role in urban design.Minimizing the negative effects of urban heat islands on individuals has become an important research topic. For this reason, climate factor plays an important role in urban design. In this study, water factor has been taken into focus in climate balanced design. In this context, the effect of water on thermal comfort was investigated. The simulations of the current plan of the area including water element and The climatic simulations of 3 alternative plans, in which the water element is removed, the numbers and locations of the pools are modified, are made with the ENVI-met software. Thus, to what extent the water element affects thermal comfort was determined. As a result of the study, the cooling effect of water use was determined but this effect was not in high amounts. as the width of the water surface increases, especially in the use of a single piece water surface, the cooling effect increases. The width of water surface doesn’t have much effect on air temperature values directly. Relative humidity values increase in direct proportion to the water surface. It was seen that as the width of water surface increases, the cooling effect increases in the mean radiant temperature maps. |
