With the emergence of the concept of social society, public spaces have become the urban spaces where various communities communicate and interact. The most important factors that enable all segments of society to come together without economic, social and physical obstacles are based on the fact that the public space is accessible and comfortable. In this respect, it becomes crucial to arrange the reinforcement and structural elements in the space according to the user of the space. In this context, the ergonomic criteria, which were determined by the literature research, were examined through a public area, Maçka Democracy Park. The method of the study was determined as a literature search to provide detailed information on the subject, user survey to identify the level of satisfaction and comfort of users, and on-site observation and measurement to obtain objective user data in the field. As a result of the study, the effect of the reinforcement and structural elements of the Maçka Democracy Park on the ergonomic criteria was determined and the impact on the users was measured. In addition, it was determined that ergonomic criteria in open urban areas were important in terms of ensuring user satisfaction.
