Comparison of Old Hasankeyf and New Hasankeyf Houses within the Scope of Ecological Architecture Criteria

The attitude of the human being from the past to the present and whose main purpose is to maintain his life more easily and the design criteria brought by the spatial culture compatible with the region he lives in, in short, directing the environment in which he lives, form the basis of traditional in other words ‘vernecular ’architecture. Traditional architecture has evolved with a sustainable understanding in harmony with the climate and nature of the region. The rapid development process that started with the industrial revolution has been reflected in the houses and has led to the production of buildings that are detached from the context created by rapid construction. As a result of this situation, it has increased the orientation towards sustainable development and energy efficient structure design in order to solve the global scale energy problem. In this sense, it is important to examine traditional architecture which is in line with sustainability and ecological architectural design criteria.Sustainability and ecological architectural design criteria such as climate, topography, building form, space organization, green texture, material selection, building envelope, direction selection etc. the criteria were examined within the context of traditional architecture and social factors influencing the formation of the study. The aim of the study is; Investigation of Hasankeyf's traditional architectural structure according to sustainability and ecological architectural criteria with classification, withcomparison and analysis of the products, and as a result of the products are evaluated with inferences to create pads useful for the future.
