Analysis of Sivrihisar Traditional Urban Structure in the Context of Spatial Use with a Holistic Approach and Data Production by Abstracting with Shape Grammar
In this study conducted in the traditional urban fabric of Sivrihisar District, it was aimed to reveal the cognitive rules in the formation of this fabric by questioning the formation steps in the context of architectural language within the scope of defining the urban fabric and to reveal the design data by analyzing how the public-semi-public and private space relationship is constructed. With this study, the traditional urban fabric was abstracted with the shape grammar method. The data obtained with this abstraction was made interpretable and analyzable. The rules constructed cognitively in the traditional city analyzed by considering a holistic approach over three different scales and the relationship between these rules were analyzed. The concept of scale, which is considered as city scale - center, neighborhood scale - sub-center and housing close vicinity, reveals the holistic approach and originality of the study. The relationships of the traditional urban setup, which is not presented in writing, in the context of center, sub-centers, square, neighborhoods, streets and architectural components were also addressed through this approach and the layout was resolved and this layout was addressed within the framework of spatial use and the cognitive design data of the traditional city was revealed. The concept of square, which is rarely seen in traditional cities, has guided the study as the original aspect of the traditional urban texture of Sivrihisar. The aim of this study is to reveal the formation fiction of the city and to use and interpret it in the context of design data. |
