Traditional Ottoman - Turkish Houses in Northern Greece

 

ABSTRACT Turkish house, which is the subject of this study, refers to the type of house shaped by the Ottoman Civilization between the 14th and 20th centuries. In this study, firstly the Turkish and Ottoman home culture were examined and a review of the literature was made on the subject and the views of the researchers were included. A field study was conducted on the traditional Ottoman - Turkish houses in northern Greece supported by on - site detection, observation, examination and area studies and the findings were transferred to the article. The main hypothesis of the study is the assumption that Eldem's Turkish House typology approach applies to Turkish - Ottoman houses in northern Greece. In the discussion part, the accuracy of the hypothesis has been tested, and the transformation of the Turkish House in the context of the Iwan and the Sofa has been emphasized in the historical process.
