21.yy Dünya Fuarlarına Ev Sahipliği Yapmış Ülkelerin Ulusal Pavyonlarında Temsiliyet

ÖZET Expo Fuarları 1851'den bu yana her 5 yılda bir düzenlenen uluslararası önemli iletişim, etkileşim, temsil ve rekabet ortamlarıdır. Bu fuarlar gerek temaları, gerek temsil pavyonları ile dönemlerinin teknolojilerini, yeniliklerini, sosyopolitik, kültürel özelliklerini ve mimarlık disiplinindeki değişimleri sergilemektedirler. Fuarlar, ortaya koyduğu mühendislik ve mimarlık gibi tüm dünyayı ilgilendiren çeşitli alanlarda ileriye dönük kurgularıyla, geleceğin dünyasını şekillendirme gücü taşımaktadırlar. Çağımızın öne çıkan sorunsalı “sürdürülebilirlik” 21.yy Expo fuarlarının gündemi olarak seçilerek, bütün insanlığı ilgilendiren doğa, doğa kaynakları, enerji ve çevre konuları fikir üretimine açılmıştır. Expo’larda sergilenen ulusal pavyonlar, ülkelerin kültürel kimlikleri ve/veya doğa başlığı altındaki fuar teması yorumlarını yansıtan önemli göstergeler taşımaktadırlar. Umberto Eco’nun göstergebilim kuramına dayalı olarak; ülke pavyonlarının fuar teması ve ülke mimarisini işaret olarak kullanma şekilleri araştırma konusu olarak seçilmiştir. Representation in the National Pavilions of the 21st Century World Fairs Host Countries ABSTRACT Expo Fairs are significant international communication, interaction, representation and competition platforms that have been held every 5 years since 1851. These fairs exhibit the technologies, innovations, socio-political and cultural characteristics of their periods and changes in the architectural discipline not only with their themes, but also with their representation pavilions. Fairs have the power of shaping the world of the future with their prospective designs in various fields that concern the whole world, such as engineering and architecture. The prominent trouble of our age, "sustainability", is chosen as the agenda of the 21st century Expo fairs, with the help of this nature, natural resources, energy and environmental issues that concern all humanity are evolved to the generation of ideas. The national pavilions exhibited at the Expos have essential indicators that reflect the cultural identities of the countries and/or the interpretations of the fair theme under the title of nature. Based on Umberto Eco's semiotic theory; The fair theme of the country pavilions and the way they use the country architecture as a sign is chosen as the research topic.
